Walking from the theatre having just seen WICKED, I conceived that there must be an ANGELIC.   Like Wicked uses the Wizard of Oz as back-story, ANGELIC uses the Christmas message.

Let's cross over to the angelic dimension as angels prepare for the Messianic prophecy.

ALEX, grappling with the legacy of fallen angel brother CURLIEF, wants to prove worthy as a new guardian angel. CURLIEF (Lucifer in disguise) wants no Messiah and puts  ALEX at the center of every Messiah mess.  The expected mother goes missing, Joseph refuses to marry Mary, travel arrangements forgotten.   A recovery plan is implemented that quickly goes askew.  Why can’t God come to the rescue? 

ALEX journeys through loss, deceit and estranged relationships - not to mention through the dimensions of the universe.  Stay out of the 5th Dimension. Gabriel has dementia.  

Conventional expectations are shattered, unlikely heroes emerge, and CURLIEF lurks around the stage curtain. Does darkness ultimately triumph?  More importantly, how does one stay out of choir rehearsals?

 It's angels' majesty, mischief, & mayhem  -  not always in that order!

Most of his career has been spent in the corporate arena with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and American Airlines.

Nick grew up in and enjoys Montana, sings and plays golf and resides in Fort Myers, FL with wife Amy.

Leaving the Broadway theatre after seeing WICKED, I conceived that there must be an - - ANGELIC.  It was not an immaculate conception, however.   It was years later before pen and paper came together. My father after reading an early draft, said “it was pure heresy” …  THAT’S when I knew I was on to something!

JOHN E. COATES  Music and Orchestration

A multi-talented musician whose experiences range from working with country superstars Roy Clark & Minnie Pearl to orchestrating & conducting the Walt Disney EPCOT Center’s inaugural Christmas Spectacular to serving as National Music Director for the Young Messiah Tour. 

Recent works include orchestrating and producing the theatrical production of the Hallmark Channel’s hit series, “When Calls the Heart,” for national syndication. John’s frivolities include lighting things on fire, perfecting his disappearing act at social events, and his restored, red, classic 1983 Mercedes convertible. He resides in Nashville with his wife Marty, and daughters, Angela and Evie, and son-in-law friend, Joshua.

ANGELIC showcases a unique point of view on a mostly familiar story.  It’s wholesome entertainment – which is in demand today.   Audiences who liked Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, TV’s Good Omens – or even the movie It’s A Wonderful Life will enjoy ANGELIC.
